International Montessori School – Auburn

safety matters

Our Plan

We will begin the school year on August 10th, 2020, a week later than previously planned, to allow for extra preperations and training. We are taking Covid-19 very seriously. Beginning in July of 2020, we opened to a small summer program which implemented the following safety measures and more (full list available upon request).

  • Expanded outdoor activities utilizing our beautiful 7-acre campus
  • Cleaning – Daily top to bottom sanitization by an outside contractor
  • Cleaning by teachers and staff regularly throughout the school day
  • Drop-off/pick-up routines adjusted for social distancing
  • Mask wearing requirements for staff, students and community members (young children will only be required to wear masks at specific times during the day, not all-day long)
  • Social distancing by teachers from separate classrooms to limit cross contamination
  • Health screenings and temperature checks of staff and students throughout the school day (as well as community members at drop-off)
  • Intertwining good sanitation and hygiene practices with Montessori curriculum
  • Meal and nap spacing of children extended
  • Limits on shared food and school provided food items
  • Limited hours to allow for thorough cleanings
  • Limited access to campus by visitors and non-essential staff
  • Limiting access to our office by all community members accept administrators
  • Enrichment and Specials have been adjusted to meet safety protocols
  • Distance learning if quarantine or lock-down is necessary
